For new followers...

A big hello to new followers. Thank you for your interest!

Here's a little information about what I have to offer:

• News about my writing and publishing activities usually appears on my social media first of all:
  • Facebook
  • Bluesky
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
• My free newsletter, over on Substack, also covers news, plus behind-the-scenes views of my life and work, background information to my stories, extracts, and lots more.
• On YouTube and TikTok I try various different things, including my Outdoor Office of the Day, extracts from my work, and the Nick's Briefs series of crime microfictions.
• I run the monthly Dead East newsletter, which includes author interviews, book reviews, extracts, and news from the world of crime and mystery fiction.
• For writers, I keep a listing of magazines, anthologies and websites that publish short crime fiction.

All of the above are free, and created because I love doing what I do, and I do hope you find plenty of interest. And, of course, if you do want to throw some money about, my short fiction appears regularly in various magazines and anthologies, and the first novel in the DI Bolam series is available for pre-order ahead of its November 2026 publication:

The Custodian is available for pre-order from Bookshop.org, Amazon, Waterstones, Kobo, and other booksellers.
...and from the publisher, No Exit Press.
